Instruction to authors

For the conference, original papers neither presented nor published at national or international meetings are expected. Authors are required to submit an eight (8) maximum pages of their regular papers through the ICMEM'2017 website up to 24 Nov (NEW DEADLINE!). All papers will be submitted to plagiarism detection.

Upon receipt of a submission, the author will receive an e-mail confirmation from ICMEM. Therefore, it is necessary that all authors provide a valid e-mail address and configure the related inbox to accept e-mails from icmem2017@sciencesconf.org. In the case of address change, the author must provide the new contact information to the ICMEM2017 Organizing Committee.

Notice: Accepted papers, selected through peer reviews, will be included in the conference proceedings and published with ISBN reference and indexed in several bases including ISI, Scopus, EI-Compendex, Google Scholar, …  Moreover, in a second step, an extended version of the best contributions, will be selected and published with additional results in special issues of journals in the fields of mechatronics, embedded systems, and advanced manufacturing.

Papers review process

Authors will be notified by end of Nov. 2017, of the status of their paper. Authors are required to submit Camera-Ready no later than 3rd December 2017. All Camera-Ready will also be submitted to CrossCheck plagiarism detection. Authors will be given a confirmation feedback after their Camera-Ready Submission. In parallel, authors shall complete an ICMEM Copyright Form, and at least one author of candidate papers must register for the conference.

By submitting an abstract for a paper, the author is accepting the condition that a candidate paper may be rejected at any time if the Program Committee determines that the author is failing to comply with ICMEM deadlines or policies, or if the Program Committee determines that the content of the paper is not of sufficient quality to merit publication in the Proceedings.

By submitting an abstract for a paper, the authors accept the condition that if the paper is ultimately accepted into the Proceedings, at least one author will be registered and attend the conference.

Paper format

Final papers length must not exceed 8 pages and follow a double columns publication format as it follows:

  • All printed material, including text, illustrations, and charts, must be kept within a print area of 17.5 cm wide by 22.54 cm high. Nothing should be written or printed outside the print area. All text must be formatted in two-column. Columns wide are 8.25 cm, with 0.8 cm inter-column space.
  •  Text must be fully justified.
  • A format sheet with the margins and placement guides is available in Word and PDF files as <format.doc> and <format.pdf> in the ICMEM website. It contains lines and boxes showing the margins and printing areas.

Main Title
The main title (on the first page) should begin at 3.5 cm from the top edge of the page, centered, and in Times 14-point, boldface type. Capitalize the first letter of nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs; shall not be in capital, articles, coordinate conjunctions, or prepositions (unless the title begins with such a word). Leave two blank lines after the title.

Author Name(s) and Affiliation(s)
Author names and affiliations are to be centered beneath the title and printed in Times 12-point, non-boldface type. Multiple authors may be shown in a two- or three-column format, with their affiliations below their respective names. Affiliations are centered below each author name, not bold. If possible, include e-mail addresses. Two blank lines must follow author’s information before main text.

Second and Following Pages
The second and following pages should begin at 2.54 cm from the top edge. On all pages, the bottom margin shall be for US letter (8.5 x 11-inch) paper at 2.86 cm from the bottom edge of the page; for the A4 paper, it shall be at 4.13 cm from the bottom edge of the page.

Text and page organization
The paper corps text shall be organized in two columns, left- and right-justified, and the columns balanced on the last page of the paper. Tables and figures might be used to adjust column length. Use automatic hyphenation and check spelling. Use Times New Roman font with size 10.5 pts for the corps text and 8 pts for the captions.

Equations, Tables, and Figures
They are centered and numbered; Tables captions might be placed on above, and Figures captions are placed below.

Reference
Number citations consecutively in square brackets [n], and refer to the reference number simply as in [n].
